Universal Digital Copy was created to extend the enjoyment of your Blu-ray disc and DVD purchases, enabling you to download or stream your movie to a computer, mobile device, or Internet-connected TV, Blu-ray player, or set top box.
Below are a series of frequently asked questions about Digital Copy.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. What is a Digital Copy and how do I get one?
A Digital Copy is an extra copy of the movie you bought on Blu-ray/DVD disc that enables you to download or stream your movie to a computer, mobile device, or Internet-connected TV, Blu-ray player or set top box.
If your Blu-ray Disc or DVD has the "Digital Copy" logo on the back it will have either a Digital Copy disc inside of the box or a link to a Digital Copy web site. Follow the instructions on the insert inside of your box to redeem your Digital Copy using the disc or the web site.
2. How do I access my Digital Copy?
Either insert the Digital Copy disc into your computer’s DVD drive or go to the web site specified on the Digital Copy insert inside of your Blu-ray Disc/DVD’s packaging. Insert your redemption code. Download or stream your Digital Copy.
To access Digital Copy on pocket BLU, simply download the app from pocketblu.com. Then, launch pocket BLU. In the application, select Digital Copy under the title you wish to redeem, click the Redeem button and type in the redemption code from your insert. The Digital Copy will automatically start downloading. Your pocket BLU Digital Copy does not prevent you from redeeming from the web site or from a Digital Copy disc.
3. Where do I find my Digital Copy redemption code?
You will find the Digital Copy redemption code on an insert inside of your Blu-ray/DVD packaging.
4. How many retailers can I redeem my Digital Copy with?
Your Digital Copy redemption code can be used to access a Digital Copy of your movie with only one retailer.
5. Is there a limit to how many times I can watch my Digital Copy?
There is no limit to the number of times you can watch your Digital Copy. You may watch your movie as much as you like.
6. How does the Digital Copy disc work?
Disc-based Digital Copy works as follows:
  • Insert your Digital Copy disc into a Mac® or PC computer.
  • Follow the instructions on the enclosed insert.
  • Select iTunes® or Windows Media® Format (Mac computers utilize iTunes only).
  • Enter your unique Redemption Code from the insert when prompted to redeem your Digital Copy.
    • iTunes Digital Copy files can be watched on your PC, Mac or iOS compatible device (iPhone®, iPod® touch, iPad)
    • WMV files may be watched on your PC.
Enjoy!
7. Do I need the Digital Copy disc every time I watch the movie?
No, once the transfer is complete you no longer need your Digital Copy disc and can enjoy your movie whenever you like.
8. Why am I receiving "The webpage cannot be found" error message?
An Internet connection is required for Digital Copy redemption. Please verify that you are connected to the Internet.
9. My disc doesn’t do anything when I put it in my PC DVD-ROM drive. What am I doing wrong?
Ensure your drive has a DVD symbol; this is required to do the transfer of the Digital Copy. If you have a valid DVD drive, the disc should auto-play and a splash screen allowing Launch Digital Copy should automatically load. If the disc does not auto-play either your auto-run is disabled on your DVD-ROM drive or a third party DVD player application (e.g. PowerDVD) is preventing the auto-run. In this case, please follow these additional steps to manually load your menu: Go to My Computer > Double-Click the icon where your DVD Drive is displayed.
10. How does the Digital Copy web site work?
The Digital Copy web site works as follows:
  • Launch a web browser on your computer and enter the URL found on the insert enclosed in your packaging.
  • We recommend signing in or registering with www.UniversalHiDef.com to take advantage of upcoming offers that relate to your Digital Copy redemptions.
  • Select the retailer with whom you wish to redeem.
  • Enter your unique Authorization Code from the insert when prompted.
  • Follow the instructions to redeem your title.
  • Once you have redeemed your title, viewing methods will vary based upon the retailer you have chosen:
  • If you are downloading an iTunes or WMV title, download times may vary based on your connection speed.
  • If you are streaming a movie to your computer or compatible streaming media device (Blu-rayTM player, Internet-connected TV, mobile device), quality may vary based on your connection speed.
11. If I cannot connect to the Internet, can I still transfer my Digital Copy to my computer?
No. In order for the Digital Copy code to be verified, you must be connected to the Internet. You only need to be connected when you first transfer the movie to your computer, not each time you watch your Digital Copy, unless you redeem with an On-Demand movie streaming service.
12. How long does it take to copy the iTunes or WMV Digital Copy media files to my PC?
For disc-based Digital Copy, the Digital Copy Application copies the computer video files to your computer from the DVD. The transfer time will vary depending on your computer hardware, DVD-ROM drive, etc.
For web site based Digital Copy, the Digital Copy Application copies the computer video files to your computer from a server or authorizes your film with your On-Demand movie streaming company. The transfer time will vary depending on your Internet connection speed.
